There’s room for you here
Perhaps you remember cards spread across a kitchen table, but never quite learned what everyone was counting. Perhaps you’ve discovered an Italian deck in a drawer. Or perhaps Scopa is entirely new to you. Every one of those is a good reason to begin.
Learn Scopa exists to make that beginning easier. We explain the game in English, keep the essential Italian names, and let you try the rules instead of asking you to memorize a long list. No account, special equipment, or prior card-game knowledge is needed for the lessons.
Learn a game. Share a table.
Our aim is practical: help you feel ready to shuffle a real deck and invite someone to play. The lessons introduce one idea at a time. The rules and scoring pages stay nearby as references. The card guide helps you recognize the suits and choose a deck you enjoy.
The game belongs to the many communities and families who play it. This site does not claim to speak for every regional tradition. We teach a clearly defined two-player reference game and identify variations separately, so you can learn the foundations and still make room for your table’s customs.
A note on our approach
Our illustrations are original teaching artwork inspired by the traditional suits. They are not scans of a commercial deck. Our rules engine checks the same captures used in the lessons, and our written guide links to an established reference so curious players can explore further.

Carry it forward
Start small: learn the suits, practice a few captures, then play a slow first deal with the scoring guide open. Explain your moves out loud. Let someone count along. A tradition grows when someone new gets to take a turn.
